1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Apein ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Apein is a personal finance tool that lets you log expenses and income, organize spending into a Personal ledger and optional Projects, set budgets, and view spending analytics — on the web and via a companion iOS app, synced through the same account.

Apein offers optional AI-assisted features, including receipt scanning and spending insights, powered by a third-party AI provider. These features are provided for convenience only and may occasionally be inaccurate — always review AI-extracted or AI-generated content before relying on it.

3. Accounts & Eligibility

You must create an account (via email/password or Google Sign-In) to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Apein.

Apein is a budgeting and expense-tracking tool, not a financial, tax, or accounting advisor. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional financial advice.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Apein may offer optional paid plans (weekly, monthly, or yearly) billed through the Apple App Store or our web payment provider. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your App Store account settings or your web account settings.

5. Your Data & License

You retain ownership of all expense, budget, and project data you enter into Apein. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to operate and improve the Service.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter, including any data extracted automatically from receipts.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to access another user's data, disrupt the Service, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. AI Features Disclaimer

Receipt scanning and spending insights are generated automatically and may contain errors — including incorrect amounts, merchants, categories, or observations. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any AI-generated entry before relying on it.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost — please keep your own records for anything critical.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apein shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including financial decisions made based on data or insights shown in the app.
